The information leaked was from individuals who requested an online catalog from its website from 2000 to 2009 as well as people who signed up for a promotional campaign in July 2015. The cybersecurity breach resulted in the leak of email addresses of over 28,700.

The leak was discovered by a review of the IT security infrastructure by Porsche. The company is still investigating whether other information was leaked, but the manufacturer said that credit card information, credit records and purchase histories were not compromised.
