Octoly Breach Exposes Data on 12,000 Social Media Influencers
Security researchers at UpGuard notified Octoly of a publicly accessible database on an Amazon server with personal information of more than 12,000 social media stars from Youtube, Instagram, Twitch and Twitter. The database was not secured.
The database contained the true identities of the social media stars as well as their addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and a massive list of the brands that partner with them. The company pairs online influencers with top brands seeking reviews and endorsements
It took nearly a month for Octoly to secure the information after being contacted by UpGuard, according to Gizmodo.
